I didn’t end up seeing it again until my teens. I came back and put the movie back on and kept watching. The Alien Factor is one of those flicks you can watch a little bit of, then leave for a bit, come back and continuing watching and not feel you missed anything. I kind of remember telling her, sure, if we could get down and back quickly so I could finish watching the movie. The little bit of gore shown in the cellar sequence of The Alien Factor startled me, but I stayed with the flick, until my mother came into the room and asked us, or told me and my brother, we needed to get our hair cuts. The Crawling Eye (aka The Trollenberg Terror) was the first movie I can think of at the moment that startled me with gore. Horror I was slowly and begrudgingly introduced to thanks to Chiller Theater. At that early of an age I wasn’t yet a horror fan, it was mostly monster movies I was into, and science fiction flicks, and any combination thereof.
The title was catchy, which is probably why I watched, but I do recall it freaked me out when the mild gore kicked in. It was a Saturday, that I remember, and it came on late morning, meaning it might have been part of Science Fiction Theater. Late 70s it was, which would mean I was either 9 or 10 years old. I remember getting a haircut when I first saw this movie.
